Our History:
Agate Software offers over a decade of high-quality, web-based application
development. We are a nationally recognized leader in the creation and implementation
of quality management software and grant application systems.
Founded in 1991, Agate Software initially focused on custom database
development. as a comprehensive software tool, and became an early leader in
the development of web-based solutions. Agate Software revolutionized grant
management with the development and implementation of the SIGMA financial grant
management system for Michigan’s Crime Victim Services Commission (CVSC). SIGMA
marked the first time in the State’s history that a grant program was managed
via the World Wide Web. SIGMA 2.0 broke even more new ground by introducing a
web interface for applicants of CVSC’s Victims of Crime Act grant. This marked
the first time in Michigan’s history that grant applications were submitted,
approved, and tracked online.
As a result of the SIGMA projects, Agate Software developed the Michigan
Electronic Grant System (MEGS) for the Michigan Department of Education. The
technologies used to build MEGS evolved into the first series of IntelliGrants™
software. Agate’s contributions to
1-800-Flowers.com and Amway’s
Quixtar.com further solidified our technical expertise.
In 2000, Agate Software acquired Pavilion Systems and its premier software
product, the QSolve Quality Management Suite. Agate converted QSolve from a
client-server package into the nation’s first web-based quality solution.
Agate Software's work has earned national accolades. SIGMA was recognized
in the "Government Solutions" category at the prestigious 1999 Windows World
Open competition for innovative technology. In 2003, Michigan’s Quality
Recognition System recognized MEGS/IntelliGrants as a high quality solution.
